VICTORIA STRIGINI X MARINE EDITH CROSTA
INTRODUCING VS X MEC 001
Victoria Strigini & Marine Edith Crosta have joined forces and imagined a ring inspired by 1930s modernist and Art Deco designs.
The generous shape of the ring is reminiscent of the voluptuous volumes found in classic Art Deco jewellery, while the pearl setting hints at the technical and industrial strides of the time, which were largely reflected in both interiors and design by the modernist group.
Victoria Strigini is a French, London-based jewellery designer. Modernising Ancient Greek and Roman antiquities, she reimagines them for the present – setting rare intaglios, cameos, and coins in bold, minimalist mounts with pure and subtle lines. Her jewellery presents striking contrasts, while highlighting the timelessness of century-old objects.
Marine Edith Crosta is a French, London-based artist, antique dealer and consultant. She makes up one half of Crosta Smith Gallery, a space specialising in exceptional 1920s and 1940s French Art Deco design, with pieces by Jean-Michel Frank, Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann, André Groult, Pierre Chareau, Boris Lacroix and many more.
After meeting in 2021, Victoria and Marine quickly expressed their mutual desire to collaborate and combine their worlds.
